Yesterday whilst browsing in the supermarket I discovered they had summer reads segment in their book section, which consisted of about 10 books. Yes, I did pick each one up and read the blurbs, the result, I found 1 book that I may possibly read the others didn’t really spark my interest.
The thing that I notice though was they all seemed to be from the same genre, romance, drama, chick lit… I think you get the picture – which got me to thinking, what constitutes a summer read? Normally when I think of summer it read it usually means something fairly light-hearted and easy to read which does fall into those categories. But the more I think about it, the more I feel summer reads could and should be more.
So with this in mind, here are my somewhat alternative “Summer Reads”
I’ve tried to include a few different genres to spice things up. I’ve read all of these books, my personal favorites are Legend, Rhapsodic, and Till Death Hopefully, you’ll find something that sparks your interest.
