Other Pursuits (#4) September 17

It’s the 1st October! Which means it time to have a look back at September. It has been a strange month because it’s felt never ending but at the same time, I can’t believe it’s Autumn already. I’ve noticed the shops getting their Christmas stuff out already so before we know it December will be upon us. Anyways this is what I got up to over the last month.

TV SHOWS

The Walking Dead

TWD.png

I’ve been nagging at my poor husband for months to give this show ago and finally we sat and watched the first episode at the beginning of the month. The result… I gave up after ep1.  It was so slow going, and I felt unnecessarily gory. It’s a zombie programme so I accept there has to be some gore also I love GoT so I’m pretty much used to watching stomach-churning scenes without even flinching, but there’s a part towards the end of the episode where there’s a shit ton of zombies eating horse intestines, I don’t need to see that I fully knew it was going to happen but I didn’t need to see them do it.

Grey’s Anatomy Rewatch

GAS6

I’m still soldiering on with this rewatch. I’ve got to season 6 now. I never realized how much a missed George until this rewatch, he was never my favorite character but he did bring something that I don’t think anyone else really has. I can’t wait for Izzy to go through, she has started to get on my nerves a bit.

Movies-2

Trolls

This is possibly the most f*#@ked up kid’s movie I have watched in a long time. I swear the person who wrote the script was on drugs at the time! Yeah, I don’t really know what else to say about it except is super weird!

Passengers

I watched this a few weeks ago, and while I did enjoy it I felt the story lacked a little something. I think I had my expectations really high though because from the trailers it looked like it going to be a bit like the book Across the Universe (by Beth Revis, which is a brilliant trilogy) but apart from the waking up early element it was nothing really like it.

Baywatch

This was actually a pretty funny movie. My main beef is that it didn’t start with the epic Baywatch song! But its defiantly worth a watch, lots of action and lots of comedy. The Rock and Zac Efron were hilarious together!

Other things-2

Goodwood Revival

I went to Goodwood Revival at the beginning of this month. and if you don’t know what that is here’s a little explanation from Wiki:

“The Goodwood Revival is a three-day festival held each September at Goodwood Circuit since 1998 for the types of road racing cars and motorcycles that would have competed during the circuit’s original period—1948–1966”

I attend this event not just for the cars (I prefer the modern cars or classic American muscle cars) but for the clothing, everyone dresses up in clothing from the 1940s to 1960s. It was a fun day but very knackering I did around 7 miles of walking around.

New Sofa

I finally (we had to wait 12 weeks for delivery)  took delivery of our new sofa this month. It’s a leather electric recliner. I love it and hate it. It’s very comfy and has the added surprise of USB ports on the side but I do miss the size and coziness of my old fabric corner sofa.

Signed Book

To finish off this post, some book fun. My signed copy of If There’s No Tomorrow came on Friday! It’s so pretty I love it:

Until Next Time! 🤓
