It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done a tag. I was tagged by MLC & CEB over on M&C Crazy Book Blog. This tag was created by them as well so thank you so much for tagging me, I’m really excited to get started.

- Do this….We are going to give you a list of music genres to choose from. You choose 5 genres off the list. You are going to choose 2 songs from each genre and connect it to a book of your choosing and explain why you think that song represents that book. (A different book for each song)

Book: A Court of Mist & Fury – Sarah J. Mass
1. Gabrielle Aplin – Salvation
This song is so beautiful and I think it captures how Rhys and Feyre fell for one anther. The lyrics are just so perfect:
“You are the avalanche
One world away
My make believing
While I’m wide awake”
Book: Temporary by Sarina Bowen and Sarah Mayberry
2.Rihanna – Stay ft. Mikky Ekko
I think this song represents how much the characters in this book wanted to stay together. Their love was unexpected and the relationship started off as a temporary arrangement and it the end they just wanted to stay together.
ROCK
Book: Red Rising Trilogy: Golden Son by Pierce Song
1. Barbarians– Sixx:A.M
I think this song perfectly portrays the fight that Darrow goes on, you can feel so much anger and defiance in the song I mean just look at the first two lines:
“I am sick of being told how to feel by the old, the decrepit, and the greedy rich
I am sick of being lied to, tied to a chain gang, rats on a sinking ship”
If you’ve read this book then you will get what mean. it’s so on point!
Book: Red Rising Trilogy: Morning Star by Pierce Brow
2. Kings & Queens – 30 Seconds to Mars
I just think this song captures the story particularly the ending. It really makes me think of Darrow and Mustang.
“Into your eyes
Hopeless and taken
We stole our new lives
Through blood and name
In defense of our dreams
In defense of our dreams”
80s/90s
Book: White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout
1. Paradise City – Guns ‘n’ Roses
For anyone who has read White Hot Kiss, they will know that there can not be another song that you can associate with it as Paradise City and that is all down to a certain Crown Prince of Hell!
Book: When its Real by Erin Watt
2. Is This Love – Whitesnake
When it’s Real is about falling in love when you’re only supposed to be pretending, so many times in this book the characters are questioning if what they are feeling, is this love? So I feel this rock classic by Whitesnake is the perfect song to go with it.
R&B
Book: Burning Moon By Jo Watson
1. Diamonds – Rihanna
There is a scene in this book where the two main characters are the at this huge party, and they step away from it all to spend one perfect night together under the stars and a red moon. I really think Diamonds captures that one moment of time they had where everything was perfect.
Book: Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa
2. Kiss From A Rose – Seal
Firstly I freaking love this book, to me Kiss from a Rose screams everything that Des feels for Callie. These two characters meet fall in love and are then separated for 7 years. Not once did Des’s feelings change (neither did Callies but there are things she didn’t realise about theseparationn at the time) I can just image Des saying to Callie:
“you remain my power, my pleasure, my pain”
RAP
Book: Thrones of Glass: Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
1. Not Afraid – Eminem
This really could be Aelin’s theme tune, she is one of the bravest characters I’ve read, she heads into the battle with a fierceness that’s hard to match and she is not afraid.
Book: THUG: The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas
2. The Fresh Prine of Bel Air Theme.
No deep and meaningful reason behind this one, the main character’s favorite Tv show is Fresh Prince so I was constantly thinking about the song whiles reading the book.

When I was doing this tag I totally forgot about Paradise City!! That is the perfect song!! Thanks so much for doing this tag, I hope you had fun doing it!
