[Book Review] The Hunt by Monica James

Synopsis

My name is Hunter O’Shea and I have a confession to make…I’ve met a girl who consumes me. I know that makes me sound completely whipped, but Mary “Lamb” Mitts has the power to bring me to my knees…it’s just too bad she hates my guts. But that’s okay, because I hate hers, too. The fiery redhead stirs something in me that I can’t explain.

This temporary insanity could be due to the fact my best friend, who used to be a bigger player than me, is getting married. That must be it. I’m caught up in an Oprah moment.

The only solution is to get back in the game and forget she exists. That theory is great—too bad I don’t want anyone else.

I…just…want…her.

I’m so screwed.

Review

I won a copy of this book in a competition hosted by the Author.

Hunter is a lifelong player, who needs commitment when you can have a different woman every night? He is perfectly happy with this set up until he meets Mary, a fiery read head who doesn’t appear to fall for his usual charms. Mary leaves Hunter hot under the collar and with an itch only she can scratch… let the hunt begin!

This book was hilarious! It took me a little while to warm to Hunter because he’s a foul-mouthed manwhore but after reading about a quarter of this book I was really rooting for this dude! It’s told mainly from Hunter’s POV with a bit of Mary’s Pov scattered throughout. The thing I probably liked the most about him was that he was straight up him and he made no apologies for that. His characters description was awesome I spent the majority of the book picturing him to be Chris Hemsworth’s twin!

I enjoyed all the little plot twists in this book, it wasn’t your run of the mill guy meets girl and boom we have lovefest, there as a little bit more to it, which was nice. The chemistry between Mary and Hunter is sizzling I really enjoyed reading the banter between them.

This was an enjoyable read, perfect if you are looking a little light.
