Beth’s life hasn’t been the same since her sister died. Her parents try to lock her down, believing they can keep her safe by monitoring her every move. When Beth sneaks out to a party one night and meets the new guy in town, Chase, she’s thrilled to make a secret friend. It seems a small thing, just for her.
Only Beth doesn’t know how big her secret really is…
Fresh out of juvie and determined to start his life over, Chase has demons to face and much to atone for, including his part in the night Beth’s sister died. Beth, who has more reason than anyone to despise him, is willing to give him a second chance. A forbidden romance is the last thing either of them planned for senior year, but the more time they spend together, the deeper their feelings get.
Now Beth has a choice to make—follow the rules, or risk tearing everything apart…again.

*I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
I was so excited to get an ARC of this books, I’d been wanting to read since I heard of its existence. I’m going to try and review this with as few spoilers as possible.
I do have mixed feelings though, I love the storyline I thought it was a great moral dilemma that Beth faced, her feelings towards Chase had to be difficult to process and I think she handled them in a great way for most of the story. Her parent’s behavior disturbed me, they were obviously struggling with their grief and weren’t dealing with it in the healthiest way. And then we have Jeff, I knew there was something sketchy about that bloke the second he was introduced, he just made my skin crawl. As for Chase, I liked his character but I wish we’d gotten his POV I think it would have added more depth to the story.
The part of the story that has made my feelings mixed is the ending, while it was good I felt like it the resolution happened way too quick. It felt a bit like all was resolved a couple of pages and I think it would have been better to have explored it a bit more and maybe made the last chapter an epilogue. To me, it just ended a bit too quick. Having said that it didn’t hinder my enjoyment and I was satisfied without how it all turned out.
