My Thoughts

I watched this one last night and it was so funny.

The parents in the movie are like so over the top with the over protectiveness, particular Leslie Manns character, jeez I think I would have lost my mind if my mother had been like that when I was a teenager. She’s the typical single Mum who doesn’t really have much of a life outside of her child and therefore all of her time and energy is hyper-focused on her teen daughter. Then we have John Cena’s character who is the overprotective dad and doesnt really like the thought of his little girl girl growing up and finally Ike Barinholtz plays the failed/deadbeat dad if you like. Now I’ve described them I can kind see that these characters represent your stereotypical parenting types.

So after accidentally see a group chat that kids are in, where it transpires they have made a sex pact for prom night,  these 3 parents go on a mission to put a stop to it.

This really where all the comedy starts taking place, I did laugh a lot during this film, like so many times that I lost count. There are some really great moments. One that was particularly funny was a teen challenging John Cena’s character to a butt chug! Which is exactly how it sounds!

You do get to see how Prom night is going for the kids, which gives it a nice full story but most of the comedy does come from the antics of the parents. Another scene worth mentioning is when they decide to break into the house of another parent’s (they are the parents to Lesley Mann’s daughter’s boyfriend) to steal their phone to find out where the kids have ended up.

I enjoyed this movie, it made me laugh a lot so if you are after a good comedy with outrageous shenanigans then give this one a try.

As always I’m leaving you with a trailer:
