Is there anything that drives you bonkers when you’re reading a book and it makes you want to tell the author a thing or two? (submitted by C. Lee @ cleemckenziebooks)
The thing that really annoys me and puts off a book the most is when the male love interest is a massive jerk to the female protaganist and everyone around her including her frinds just think that is perfectly ok?
When I say Jerk, I don’t mean minor charactor flaws, usually he’s a possessive, controlling ย and overly jealous dickwad. If you are going to write a character like this then make it a learning experience – not justify it and make out that behaviour like that is ok. I just don’t get it.
I’d love to hear what drives you bonkers? leave your answers in the comments.
Happy Monday โ๐ผ
Good question; gotta give this some thought. Not a fan of romance genre books in general, so it’d have to be something in other genres for me.

Iโd probably say an unfinished story. I want to know the rest, damn it! ๐ฉ๐

This is a good one, unfinished stories are so annoying!

Hi Tracy! I don’t like the major jerk guy characters either. My biggest author peeve is repetitive text. I hate when authors use the same descriptive phrases over and over to describe a thing or an action. “He looked up at me through his lashes” “I looked down through my lashes” “lashes” “lashes” etc., just as an example. Drives me up the wall!!
