Synopsis
There were always whispers about my roommate at Hillcrest Academy.
The wealthiest of the wealthy sent their kids to our boarding school, and Brooke Bennett had been at the top, though I never quite knew why. She was fun and outgoing, but she kept quiet about her family. The only things she showed me were photographs of her brothers.
I became fascinated with her second-oldest brother. Kai Bennett.

Review
I’m going to start by saying that I usually don’t go for Mafia type stories mainly because I just don’t have the patience for them and also I just find them incredibly boring. But this one has some great reviews and its Tijan so I threw caution to the wind and gave it ago and I’m really pleased that I did because it was pretty great.
There’s no romance in the traditional sense, it starts out more of a physical connection more than emotional one which was a bit different but totally understandable. Riley has had a really tough life and Kai well he is a stone cold mob boss, except he is so much more. I really enjoyed his character, I could really feel his intensity come through the pages and the chemistry between him and Riley was electric.
The story itself kept me hooked, Riley is just as mysterious as Kai, they both have deep dark secrets. There were lots of little twists and turns that I just didn’t see coming. I love it when I’m reading a story and it’s totally unpredictable and this was definitely one of those.
