Do the star ratings a book receives on Goodreads or retail sites affect whether you buy the book or not? (submitted by Flora @ Flora’s Musings…)
If it’s a new author or I can’t make up my mind about a book then yes the rating does have a little bit of affect but I do know a lot of books that have been hyped up and have all these 5-star reviews and then I’ve read it and thought well that wasn’t that great, so going on star ratings alone is always and accurate representation that I’m going to like the book. So I would say sometimes yes it does and sometimes it doesn’t
