[Book Review] #MNGirl by A.M.Brooks

Synopsis

My family’s scandal is my fall from grace. The night of my seventeenth birthday leads to the final event that catapults my future in a different direction. One call for help turns into my only chance of survival.
Now, the only way to stay safe is to keep hidden.
Hidden in a small town in the middle of “No-where”, Minnesota, away from my friends, my prestigious school, and my family, I have to mesh with the other hidden children in order to survive.
Though, it’s not just the Bogeyman that keeps me up at night…
Ciaran Jakobe, with his frosty blue eyes and instant dislike for me sets my nerves on end. There is no escaping his sharp words and constant torment. Every push from him sparks a fire of fight inside me. Every smirk from his full, pink lips makes me want to punch him in the face. He’s my nemesis and my dark hero.
I may be paying for my parent’s mistakes but I won’t let a Midwest Boy get the best of me.

Review

So it’s not often that I sit and read a book from start to finish in one sitting but that’s exactly what happened with this book. This is a romantic suspense novel with an emphasis on the suspense, it’s the main reason I couldn’t put it down.

To sum it up, after it comes out that Sailer’s dad has been money laundering for his company, he does and runner and bad guys show up and assault Sailer’s Mum. To keep safe Sailer is sent off to live in a protected community in one state and her Mum and Sister Mila are sent off to another. It’s here that she meets Ciaran – the Nephew of the guy she is under the protection of. Ciaran is your typical bad-boy protector, who to begin with makes Sailer’s life miserable but in the process develops feelings for her.

I think what made this story so addictive is that I didn’t know what was going to happen next and I do like it when a book does that. I wasn’t a huge fan of the romance but the rest of the storytelling was pretty awesome and is the reason why I need the next book like now! I like Sailer, she’s been through a lot of shit but she is still carrying on, I do think she should have called Ciaran out a bit more on the bullshit he put her through. I didn’t really like Ciaran to much, even from his perspective I still thought he was a bit of a dick, his friend Kai was much more likable.

In a nutshell…

Quck insense read that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

My Rating 4/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟
