[Book Review] The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Synopsis

From the desperation of golden crowns…

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh…

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises…

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

I read this book in two sittings which was roughly 6-7 hours… and damn I don’t even know where to begin. Ok so lets get a little of the bad out of the way with first, so me it felt like the first part of this book dragged on way to long, but that could just have been my impatience in wanting the story to move quicker than it did. Ok that’s the bad out of the way with, let’s move on to the good….

The last half of this book is the the shining light of this story! I loved everything about it, so much happens, so many revelations – it just blew my mind! There’s so much I want to say but I can’t because spoilers! I am definitely going to have re-read this story before the next ones come out because damn its just a lot. I loved the character development of Poppy I feel she really grows in this book and its exciting to see.

To keep this review brief because I don’t want to give even a hint of a spoiler away, here’s a summary:

  • Poppy and Cas are still as kick ass and cute af,
  • Kiran is the MVP,
  • Is-Bitch will make you rage like never before
  • and brace yourself because this one is a journey!

My Rating: 5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
