Summary
Catalina Martín desperately needs a date to her sister’s wedding. Especially since her little white lie about her American boyfriend has spiralled out of control. Now everyone she knows—including her ex and his fiancée—will be there and eager to meet him.
She only has four weeks to find someone willing to cross the Atlantic and aid in her deception. New York to Spain is no short flight and her raucous family won’t be easy to fool.
Enter Aaron Blackford—her tall, handsome, condescending colleague—who surprisingly offers to step in. She’d rather refuse; never has there been a more aggravating, blood-boiling, and insufferable man.
But Catalina is desperate, and as the wedding draws nearer, Aaron looks like her best option. And she begins to realize he might not be as terrible in the real world as he is at the office..

Review
It’s been a few weeks since I read this one. I was hesitant for a while about even reading it because I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews, but Waterstones were doing a buy one gets one half price, so I thought you know what fuck it I’ll give it a whirl.
The writing was good I enjoyed the flow however the pacing as bit slow. I did like all the details we got about the characters it particularly Catalina, we get lots of character building and it made her feel like whole. However, I didn’t particularly like her, I found her extremely frustrating until like the last half of the book – that’s when we get back story of why she is so cold and distrusting.
The romance was super slow burn! Which I do love but sometimes it did feel a bit to slow. It baffled me that Catalina was so blind to Aarons true feelings but I guess her past gave her a tinted view of love. I did like Aaron although it took me a while to warm up to him. It would have been amazing to have had some chapters from his POV. I feel as a reader this would have helped the story along.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read for the most part. I’d recommend if you love a good slow burn romance.
My Rating: 3/5 🌟🌟🌟
